What's your desk style?

How to answerThink about your desk now (or your dream desk) and go with your gut. No style is better than another.

You move to a new desk. The first thing you put down is…
A little potted plantNothing. You wipe the desk down firstA box of tissues and a bag of snacksA stack of sticky notes and pens in three colours
What does your desk look like right now?
Open the drawer and there's everything: snacks, chargers, plastersLittle mountains of paper, but you know what's in each oneA laptop and a mug. That's itPhotos, little ornaments and a warm desk lamp
Your computer desktop…
Just the bin icon on a plain, solid-colour wallpaperYour cat as the wallpaper, or a photo from your last tripIcons wall to wall, each exactly where you remember itA "handy templates" folder people keep asking you to share
A colleague walks past your desk. They're most likely to say…
"How do you find anything in here?" "Easily, thanks""Got a charger I could borrow?""It's so cosy here. Mind if I sit for a bit?""Did you… just move in?"
It's 3 p.m. What are you most likely doing at your desk?
Filing away finished papers so the desk is clear againSketching on a blank sheet to sort out an idea you just hadOpening a pack of biscuits and passing it roundWatering your plant and switching to some mellow music
If work gave everyone a small budget to decorate their desk, you'd buy…
A squishy cushion and a little throw blanketA big storage box, filled with snacks and everyday remediesA small whiteboard and a pile of colourful sticky notesA good monitor stand, to free up even more desk space
It's the end-of-year clear-out. At your desk…
You find several chargers and an umbrella nobody claimsFive minutes and you're done. There wasn't much to clearYou can't bear to bin the little cards, so they go neatly backYou dig up a draft from six months ago and suddenly have a new idea
What would drive you up the wall at your desk?
Someone "helpfully" tidying it, and now you can't find anythingSitting right under the air con, freezingA pile of stuff that isn't yours appearing on itWanting a snack and finding the drawer completely empty
The office is moving. Packing up your desk takes…
Two boxes, one of them just snacks for your new neighboursOne box, full of photos, ornaments and the plant you've kept alive for three yearsAn hour just to decide which piles of paper you still needOne tote bag. Done
